Life & Thyme Post #7: The Tradition Issue
Life & Thyme Post #7: The Tradition Issue
Introducing The Tradition Issue, the latest edition of our quarterly newspaper, Life & Thyme Post.
As the ground shifted below our feet and uncertainty became a constant this year, traditions were put to the test. In the latest issue of Life & Thyme Post, we document individuals and communities around the globe that are using this moment of disruption to evaluate old customs due for a change, and establish new, more sustainable ones for the future. The voices in this issue weave a narrative proving that the most important tradition we have as humans, is to pass on our experience to others.
The stories in this issue span from Egypt, where rooftop livestock rearing is a tradition amongst families, to Alaska, where imported items at local markets provide a taste of tradition to immigrants. Take a trip to the South Pole where chef Karin Jansdotter bakes bread with sub-zero temperatures in Antarctica or to India to uncover the rich history behind the opium poppy. And so much more.
It wouldn't truly be a Tradition issue if we didn't make some new traditions of our own. Included in this issue is the first ever Life & Thyme Crossword, with clues written by our editors and contributors. Plus, a comic by Cesar Diaz.
